The Perfect Litchi Martini: With a Little Spicy Twist
Just to start off your weekend on the right foot honey
litchi / lychee
/ˈlēCHē/
noun: litchi
“A small rounded fruit with sweet white scented flesh, a large central stone, and a thin rough skin.”
This litchi martini is such sweet, spicy, refreshing perfection and an absolutely delicious way to end off a long week. I saw litchis for sale in the grocery store this week and it immediately made me super nostalgic for South African summers and humid days spent by the pool eating bowls of litchis. They taste very similar to a green grape but with a more subtle flavor. I can guarantee this cocktail is going to be a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients: makes 2 cocktails
3oz / 2 shot glasses of St Germain or elderflower liquor
3oz / 2 shot glasses vodka
3oz / 2 shot glasses litchi juice * you can either find litchis canned in the Asian food section of the grocery store or just buy litchi juice if you can find it!
1.5oz / 1 shot lime juice
Litchi pulp or two whole litchis
Jalapeño, sliced into thin rounds
Method:
Pour the St Germaine, vodka, lime juice and litchi juice into a shaker with ice.
Shake and pour into a frosty glass, I personally like mine over the rocks, but you can absolutely enjoy it straight up.
Garnish with a slice of jalapeño and a litchi.
I also love making this into a litchi spritz by topping it off with a little soda for a lil sparkle!
